This information is to help anyone who wants to visit Sangkhlaburi.
There is another Resort - Burmese Inn (ran by Austria-Thai couple), with good
reputation.
Believe more or less same as P. Guest House.
But I have never been there.

P. Guest House is located at Sankhlaburi on the hill
overlooking Kao Laem Lake. I have stayed in this decent place three times. The food is one of the best available in the town with some river fish you cannot have in Bangkok - sorry forgot the name. Room is small but very pleasant to stay. Of course, no cable TV, air-con, refrigerator nor toilet at your room. Shower room is very clean, and much more comfortable than any 3 star hotel. (Seeing is believing) The room charge is Baht180 per person per night. If you join the package - longtail boat, elephant riding, trekking and bamboo rafting plus a bottle of water and lunch - total price (including room charge) is Baht800 per person. For kids they charge Bht400. Don't forget to bring your towel. In the cool season, there is no mosquito. But if you go there in other season, better think about Malaria. Bug repellent will be recommendable for both in the night and elephant riding. The place is now getting popular, thus better make booking before leave. To contact P.
